FAQ

I have never done a photo session before. How do you work?

My work as a photographer in Bordeaux focuses on creating captivating and suggestive images for use on websites, social media, advertisements, menus, cookbooks, and more.

Typically, my work is done on-site, but it depends on the type of service:

For Culinary Photography, I will travel to the client’s establishment or wherever the products to be photographed are prepared.

If it’s a Food Delivery Shooting, the dishes should be prepared before the photoshoot, and we should avoid using cardboard or plastic packaging. It’s much more interesting to take photos with the elements commonly found in your establishment, such as dishes, wooden boards, slate, glassware, napkins, and cutlery.

For Social Media Shootings, don’t prepare the dishes just yet, or at least not all of them. Save the best for last, so we have the opportunity to capture action shots in the kitchen and witness the magic happening! This way, you help me capture your restaurant’s essence better, and we’ll create a unique story that will allow us to connect emotionally with the target audience and set you apart from the competition. In any case, always pay attention to the appearance of the dishes. I usually start by building trust with the chef and working closely to ensure the dish looks its best. However, don’t hesitate to ask for tips and advice because I have considerable knowledge and experience in Food Styling to make your dishes look truly amazing!

For a Real Estate Shooting, I will travel to the property’s location, and it’s crucial to emphasize tidiness and keeping spaces clear. Every detail matters, and this is where Home Staging comes into play: arranging decorative elements, straightening curtains, sheets, and blankets, organizing books on a shelf by color, or hiding all electrical cords can make a significant difference in helping clients decide on a place. The client should be able to mentally picture themselves in that space, so we’ll add personal elements that subtly suggest someone lives there. The photographs will be taken in HDR, which means we’ll take three different exposures for each photo and then merge them in post-production to achieve proper exposure both indoors and through the windows. If there are specific elements that need emphasis and highlighting, please let me know, and I can focus on those or take detail shots.

For all other types of shootings, such as Lifestyle, Product, or Video, I invite you to call me and ask personally. Depending on your needs, we can work out all the details.

What photography equipment do you use?

I currently work with a CANON EOS R and a variety of fixed and zoom lenses to achieve the highest quality photographs in terms of detail and texture. I also have several portable flashes or large studio flashes and accessories to create the necessary lighting setups to bring your photographs to life.

For video, I have a Gimbal Stabilizer, continuous lighting, and HF microphones—everything needed to unleash creativity.

How will I receive the photographs?

If we haven’t pre-selected photographs beforehand, I will provide you with a Contact Sheet containing an initial pre-selection of photos. Once you make your selection, you can make the payment, and you will receive the photographs before the end of the day.

Currently, I send the photographs via platforms like WeTransfer, where you have 7 days to download the photos. The photos are sent in two sizes: for social media and in the original format in case you need prints.

How long does it take to receive the photographs?

The delivery time for food photographs is 24 hours after the session. If, for any reason, you need the photos urgently, you can opt for the <24-hour retouching add-on, which costs an additional €50.

How far in advance should I book?

It’s recommended to book at least a week in advance so we can plan your photoshoot accordingly. This way, you can secure the date you desire and avoid depending on my schedule availability.

How much does a food photography service cost?

To provide you with a personalized quote, I need you to answer 3 questions in the Contact Form to understand the purpose of the photoshoot:

  1. What type of photos do you need? (dishes, interior, or a gastronomic event)
  2. If it’s photos of dishes only, how many dishes would you like to be photographed?
  3. Where will the photos be used? (website, social media, catalog, book, etc.)
How can I make the payment for the session?

For budgets exceeding €250, a 30% deposit of the total value MUST be paid at the time of booking. The Full Payment is made upon receiving all the photographic material.

Do you have more questions?

I’d be delighted to answer them all. Please don’t hesitate to get in touch with me through the contact details provided. Thank you very much.
